  • Finally

    I'm generally a fan of Apple products, but all of this denial from the higher ups, especially Steve Jobs, about the iPhone 4 antenna issues has been driving me crazy.

    Well, they're still in complete denial but at least they're finally doing what they should have done from the beginning - offering free cases to prevent dropped calls from touching the spot where the two antennas meet.

    Thanks, Mr. Jobs, for (sort of) doing the right thing.

  • The Confederate Flag

    I get so disgusted watching nuts defend the Confederate Flag because it's a piece of "southern history". Right. That's no different than a German bearing a swastika because it's part of German history. The mere fact that a symbol is a piece of history doesn't justify displaying it, wearing it, or having a tattoo of it on your body.

    Symbols matter, they have meaning. And the symbol of the Confederate Flag has a long, dark, violent disgusting history of hatred, bigotry, and racism, not just from the Confederacy itself but also from its longtime usage by the KKK. The intent of the individual doesn't matter, there is simply no excuse for bearing such a vile symbol in this day and age.

  • Homosexuals should be Executed

    I was wrong before. S_K_O_T isn't an ass, he is just plain insane. Literally certifiably insane, and perhaps dangerous. If you don't believe me, check out this reply he left to a commenter on his own blog:

    @Yulon - People committing a sin such as homo-sexuality should have the gravity of this presented to them, should be granted a warning, advice, and if need be, a stern word, if they obstinately fail to heed this, then yes indeed, they are deserving of swift execution! There are very few, if any, societies that during their history did not execute 'homosexuals'. There's a lot to be garnered from this. For society's sake, measures utlimately need to be taken.     Yes, he is actually advocating that gays be executed. Let this be a lesson to us all of just how thoroughly religious indoctrination can warp someone's mind*.

    * To clarify things for commenters who think that this is a general attack on religion - it's not. It is specifically an attack on certain prevalent strands of religious indoctrination that foster this kind of bigoted thinking. Thank you.
